Commissions

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 24, 2012, 4:05 PM

If you come here from Comic Book Clash or from anywhere else linking to this journal, first of all, welcome and secondly if you are interested in commissioning me here's the details.

Now, I don't need a lot of money (but I still do need money, no doubt) so I'm keeping these cheap.

For $1 you get: A black and white pencil drawing (with or without background)

For $3 you get: A drawing with flat digital colors (no background)

For $5 you get: A cellshaded drawing (no background)

For a background I can be negotiated with, depends on how simple or not the background is.

What I will do, eh, let's make it what I won't do, that's easier.

What I won't do:
Hentai (straight up porn isn't allowed on dA anyway but if you wanted me to send it straight to you... still no)
Anything that is hateful towards a particular group or religion
I don't know about yaoi or yuri though. I may or not be comfortable doing that.

Ecchi is fine though, I am ok with drawing erotica it's pornography that I won't do. (Yes, there is a difference erotica is artful and pornography is only to stimulate)

Note me or send an e-mail to TrueIkariWarriors@gmail.com

For my normal watchers, good news I might be getting some awesome job soon. Either as an art director, or working on a video game or working on a website. They're all cool, but the art director job pays... well... the AVERAGE salary is $116,000 a year so... if I got that one I'd be ecstatic.

Stuff To See

  • Listening to: Anjunabeats Worldwide Volume 4
  • Watching: The Legend Of Korra
  • Playing: Another Century's Episode: R
  • Drinking: Diet Coke (if this changes pigs will fly)

Good luck with your commissions! And I do agree that there is a difference between erotica and pornography.

And I know this is an older journal, but I hope things are still looking up for you as for finding a job. =)

Thank you. Things seem to be looking up for the commissions. I have one person who commissioned me already. To do design sheets for his characters.

Thanks again. :) I got two rejection letters one was for the job to work here at dA and the other was to be somebody who helped design weapons and vehicles for the next Call Of Duty game, they were low level jobs too... But there's still 3 other places I applied for all three in New York. Believe it or not, the only job that showed interest in me is the 100,000+ a year job. XD If I actually get that one, I'd be set. :D

You're welcome. =) That is awesome about the commission you have now. =)

And you're welcome, maybe those two jobs just weren't meant. Would be wonderful if you did get the one that really interests you! I'll be cheering you on. =D

It'd be great to get a decent job doing something that truly interests you. It's still hard work, but it's easier to roll out of bed in the morning. I've been working as a mechanic for the last 15 years, and I'd have to say it's wearing me down a bit. Not my last choice, by any means, but I can think of some other things that interest me much more. Still, I'm glad to even have a job.

How about that Korra show? It kind of gives me some hope for television.

Isn't that the truth? :D

It's also the truth that nowadays it's great to just have a job. You're a mechanic? Am I right in thinking that you have your mecha/sci-fi drawing skills from working on cars?

I LOVE Korra. It's my obsession right now. :3 Just wish every time I look up stuff on Korra it wasn't always people shipping characters or drawing Mako. Wish there was just some more focus on Korra herself. But whatever they can do what they want, nothing wrong with them, just personally want to see more of Korra herself and not so much on shipping.

I should do a Korra fanart. Without the shipping. I really enjoy seeing such a rough and tumble, kind of muscular, girl in the lead role and the generally positive response to such a character.

I used to design Transformer fan characters based off some of the cars I was working on. Would sometimes take pictures of the cars from different angles. Visually, I enjoy cars, but even after working on them for so long, I feel like I only have the most basic understanding of how they work. Every time I see the workings of an engine or transmission, I can't believe these things don't go flying into a million pieces when put to use. How did someone dream this stuff up? It's almost like reality is stranger than fiction.

I definitely look forward to how you would do Korra. My feelings exactly on her.

Ah, sometimes I think I should do that but with streets and buildings. A lot of my stories take place in urban areas and I would like to be able to draw things like that better.

That is very true. Plenty of times reality is stranger than fiction. I think of the internet, especially wireless internet, as an example of when it comes to how things in real life sound like they come straight from fiction.

Yeah, I've got this idea that I need to do a "sketch a day" kind of thing, so that I can explore different kinds of characters and ideas without getting bogged down in a big project. Of course, if the sketch did happen to be awesome, it might get inked and colored. No doubt, I'm going to be doing some Korra sketches, this week. Maybe I'll put my "sketch a day" crap up on my tumblr account (I just started that a few days ago and there is nothing on it, yet).

It's funny, because we didn't get the flying cars or robot butlers we were supposed to have by the year 2000, but some of our other household technology is beyond Star Trek. Still want a holodeck, though.
